Farewell News

We would like to wish a fond farewell to David Winser who stepped down from the committee at the AGM on the 27th April.  David was one of the founder members of the club. He has been chairman and field trial secretary for over 20 years.  After seeing the German Longhaired Pointers running at the HPR World Championship in Holland in 1994 he and Eileen imported Iris (already in pup) who was one of foundation bitches in the UK. He and Eileen worked tirelessly to set up the new club, organising truly exceptional field trials, working tests, spring pointing tests, shows and seminars. It is no exaggeration to say that they have been the most influential people in shaping the German Longhaired Pointer Club.  We wish him very best wishes for the future and many years of shooting over his lovely dogs.

Rob Gould also stood down as a committee member earlier in the year.  He was on the first committee with David and Eileen. He has produced three field trial champions and last year won the St Hubert World Championship with his GLP bitch Djynn.

Coshy Kimberly and Frances Smart were voted onto the committee at the AGM.
